• Project & business data — solar site surveys, rooftop designs, BOQ entries, proposals, project milestones, tasks, and uploaded documents that you create or manage within Staredge.
• Financial information — billing address, GST number, and payment method details processed through our PCI-compliant payment partner. We do not store card numbers on our servers.
• Usage & device data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, referring URLs, pages viewed, and interaction timestamps collected via server logs and analytics tools.
• Cookies & local storage — session cookies for authentication, preference cookies for theme and language settings, and analytics cookies (see Cookies & Tracking).

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Service delivery — to create and manage your account, generate solar proposals, BOQs, designs, and project workflows.
• Communication — to respond to support requests, send important account notifications, and share product updates or educational content (you can opt out of marketing emails at any time).
• Personalisation — to tailor your dashboard experience, remember preferences, and pre-fill data for faster workflows.
• Analytics & improvement— to understand usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and continuously improve the platform's features and performance.
• Legal compliance — to comply with applicable laws, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect the rights and safety of Staredge and its users.
• Security — to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers — trusted vendors who assist us with hosting (cloud infrastructure), payment processing, email delivery, and analytics. Each provider is contractually bound to use your data solely for the services they provide to us.
• With your consent — when you explicitly authorise sharing, for example, connecting an integration or exporting project data to a partner platform.
• Legal obligations — if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Staredge, its users, or the public.
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of the transaction. You will be notified beforehand and given the option to delete your account.

• Legal & tax records — financial and invoice data may be retained for up to 8 years as required by Indian tax and regulatory laws.
• Backups — encrypted backups are purged on a rolling 90-day cycle.

Staredge is a business-to-business platform designed for solar EPC professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently gathered data from a minor, we will delete it promptly. Our servers are located in India. If you access Staredge from outside India, please be aware that your data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in India. By using our platform, you consent to the transfer of your data to India.
